Localization of Marker Particles in Bulk Materials Utilizing a MIMO Radar Approach
This paper presents a Multiple Input Multiple Output based localization system for marker particles in bulk materials. Measurements were carried out in the frequency range from 1.5 GHz to 8.5 GHz. The used bulk material are granules of polypropylene with a diameter of 3 mm. The localization was performed with four dual polarized antennas. The imaging algorithm were adapted to compensate the refraction at the bulk material. At the same time, it can be shown that a change in density caused by mixing the granulate has no significant influence on the measurement signal. The measurements show that marker particles with a diameter of 30 mm and 10 mm can be localized.
