OSINT Model of Privacy Violator
The emergence of publicly available OSINT (Open Source Intelligence) tools often leads to leaks of confidential information and the collection of data for conducting cyberattacks. At the same time, open publications lack a model of an intruder using OSINT, which prevents the development of a theory to counter OSINT. The aim of the article is to develop a model of a confidentiality intruder utilizing OSINT. Methods. The OSINT intruder model is constructed by applying the theory of algebraic morphisms to information security problems. Results. A model of an OSINT intruder has been developed, formalizing the relationship between open and confidential properties of an object and their mutual mapping. A task to be solved by an OSINT intruder is defined, and attack vectors are described. A hypothesis regarding the necessary and sufficient conditions for successfully breaching confidentiality using OSINT is proposed. Discussion. The existence of an inverse mapping of confidential properties to open ones requires further study.
