Current Mode Controlled Interleaved KY Boost Converter With Enhanced Response

Boost converters have gained popularity in PV systems due to their high efficiency, flexibility and simplicity. KY boost converter promises a lot of advantages like high gain and reduced current and voltage ripple along with high efficiency. An interleaved KY boost converter is proposed in the present work, which promises an increased power output and a significant reduction in the input current ripple. The analysis of the proposed Interleaved KY Boost Converter (ILKYBC) is presented. Current mode controlled ILKYC is simulated using PID and FOPID controllers in different combinations and the results for each combination of the controllers are presented. The results indicate that the FOPID-PID controlled CMCILKYBC has the fastest response out of the four controller combinations.
