Reconstruction of 2D Images into 3D Model
Due to the fast pace of evolution and development, there has been enormous advancement in almost every sector. Every advancement is meant to reduce human efforts, costs, and time. The transformation of 2D images into 3D is central to achieving this goal. Generating a 3D representation from 2D images with utmost realism poses a fundamental challenge in the realms of image-based modeling and computer vision. Current studies frequently emphasize the design of the point cloud generation network, neglecting the extraction of features from 2D images and minimizing loss during feature propagation in the network. To address these challenges, this article proposes a novel framework for high-fidelity recovery of object shapes from 2D images. The proposed approach utilizes the single-view neural implicit shape representations to leverage explicit 3D shape supervision. The single-stage network structure can reduce the loss of the extracted 2D image features. The paper examines classical computer vision techniques and others, stating their advantages and limitations while providing in-depth descriptions of the methodologies being used. By illuminating different approaches, this article serves as an insightful guide to the various strategies and models shaping the conversion of 2D photos into their respective 3D representations, contributing to the ongoing debate on technological advancements.
