Numerical Simulation and Predictive Modeling of Debris Flow Events in parts of Wayanad District, Kerala, India: An Earth Observation Perspective
Kerala‘s Wayanad District has recently drawn global attention of Landside experts after the End-July 2024 event which wrecked a havoc on the affected areas. Pertinently, this work reveals five other vulnerable (future) debris flows in the vicinity which has potential of causing similar catastrophe. Numerical simulation and predictive modeling by Rapid Mass Movement Software (RAMMS), taking cues from satellite datasets, hence, have been employed here to have an objective idea about the selected potentially hazardous areas and consider them under the radar of (landslide) mitigation so that timely future remedial measures can be installed.
