On Modeling a Section of Railway Track for the Purpose of Analyzing Changes in the Value of Input Impedance
The readiness of a railway track for upcoming movement is one of the primary conditions for ensuring the safety of train operations. The systems that currently used in positioning rolling stock either do not allow for the monitoring of the integrity of the rail-wires line or possess high discreetness in determining the location of the rolling stock. In this study, a simulation was conducted to analyze the variation of the input impedance of a railway track section under different conditions. The simulation utilized the Spyder scientific environment, which is an open-source platform for Python. The relationship between the components of the input impedance, the location of the rolling stock, and the insulation resistance of the rail-wires line under specific circumstances is presented. The results obtained from the simulation indicate the possibility of using the value of the complex input impedance to assess the condition of the track section and the location of the rolling stock.
