Performance Optimization in Wireless Sensor Networks using REAMR Protocol for IoT Applications
In wireless sensor networks (WSNs), optimizing energy consumption, delay and network lifetime is crucial for improving system performance as well as longevity. The paper presents the REAMR (Resource Efficient Adaptive Multi-Route) protocol, a innovative method designed to specify these challenges. Comparative performance investigation were performed against standing protocols, including EELCBRP, LAST, and AFTMR, using performance metrics such as energy consumption, delay as well as network lifetime. The projected REAMR protocol exhibited superior delay reduction, attaining a delay of 1.18 ms at 100th round compared to 1.35ms for EELCBRP, 1.12ms for LAST, and 1.13ms for AFTMR. Correspondingly, in terms of energy effectiveness, REAMR reduced utilization to 510 J at steady-state environments, outperforming EELCBRP, LAST, and AFTMR, which utilized 645 J, 620 J, and 600 J, respectively. Network lifetime investigation further highlighted REAMR's advantages, with a peak lifespan of 320 seconds at the 10th round, outstanding LAST (160 s), AFTMR (265 s), and EELCBRP (100 s). These results show the effectiveness of REAMR in extending network lifespan as well as minimizing resource utilization, making it a promising solution for resource-constrained environments in IoT based applications.
