Remote Monitoring Device for Gas Leakage

Due to the widespread installation of gas equipment in private homes, the likelihood of emergencies related to gas leaks has increased. Accordingly, the task arose of taking measures to prevent accidents and dangerous situations. For this purpose, new specialized devices based on gas sensors and innovative monitoring and notification tools are currently being used and developed. They detect the leak and report the threat to the control post using a dedicated communication channel. At the same time, the availability and accessibility of such devices is very limited. In this regard, there is an urgent task to develop an affordable gas leak detection system for widespread use in the industrial and civil sectors. In this article, a variant of the gas leak control system using wireless technologies and cloud data processing is proposed. At the same time, the functionality and accessibility of the proposed solution is based on the concept of devices for Internet of Things systems and gas sensors. It is important to note that the Internet of Things systems make it possible to increase the availability of mass adoption of devices due to lower requirements for the end device and increases reliability through real-time monitoring. The developed sensor was tested within the framework of the stated scenarios and showed the effectiveness of its implementation in existing Smart Home and Industry 4.0 systems.
