A Rapid Microwave Distribution Network for Accelerator Array System
This work presents a rapid microwave distribution network based on a compact multiplexer component, to cooperate with an accelerator array system for rapid multiangle radiation. Given the current limitation of high-power klystrons in output bandwidth, this distribution network achieves output branch switching with narrow frequency intervals, while maintaining high transmission efficiency. A compact S-band (2856 MHz) one-input-three-output multiplexer prototype was designed, fabricated, and tested with both low and high power conditions. Furthermore, an accelerator array system equipped with a compact multiplexer and three accelerators has proven capable of rapid beamline switching. The rapid microwave distribution network offers a compact, efficient, and straightforward solution for the accelerator array system to achieve rapid multiangle radiation, paving the way for the application of novel technologies such as ultrahigh dose rate FLASH radiotherapy and industrial stationary CT.
