It is substantiated that the administrative and organizational activity, scientific creativity and educational practices of the professor were of great importance for the establishment of the idea of the Ostroh University Center and in its practical implementation. M. Kovalskyi was and remains the greatest scientist who worked/works at the Ostroh Academy. Without him, the Ostroh university idea would not have such a developed component of respect for true science, which is characteristic of it today. The professor's contribution to the implementation of practical things, without which there could be no question of its rapid growth, was significant – the establishment of a teaching staff, the initiation of intensive and high-quality scientific work, the definition of forms and methods of higher education, in general, the formation of intellectual and methodical potential for future progress.
