MICROAGULHAMENTO COMO RECURSO ESTÉTICO NO REJUVENESCIMENTO FACIAL: REVISÃO INTEGRATIVA

Introduction: Aging is a process that involves changes in the skin as we age, such as the absence of collagen and elastin, proteins that are essential for maintaining the firmness and elasticity of the skin. Over time, the skin loses its ability to retain water, becoming drier and more prone to the appearance of wrinkles. In addition, sun exposure is one of the main factors that accelerates aging, contributing to the appearance of wrinkles and blemishes. Objectives: The effectiveness of microneedling as a treatment for reducing signs of facial aging is assessed, exploring the fundamentals, techniques and mechanism of action of microneedling. Methods: This is an integrative review, where searches were carried out in the Google Scholar, SciELO and PubMed databases, with the purpose of obtaining a deep understanding of microneedling as an alternative in the treatment of facial rejuvenation. Results: When performing the perforations, the microneedles open microchannels, with the aim of applying active ingredients for greater absorption. This procedure represents a safe treatment and presents satisfactory and surprising results for facial rejuvenation, as the analyzed articles describe.
