Periosteal reactions and myalgias as an initial manifestation of paediatric Takayasu arteritis with delayed vascular involvement
We report a 4-year-old boy with no significant medical history who was referred for bilateral lower limb pain, swelling of the right leg, and an antalgic gait that favoured the left leg. He also had a diffuse nonpruritic maculopapular rash on the extensor surfaces of all 4 limbs, sparing the palms, soles, trunk, scalp, and genitals. Some lesions were purpuric and nodular (Fig, A). The patient was fully vaccinated, was growing normally, and had no fever or systemic symptoms.
