Ti doping effects on the magnetic and magnetocaloric properties of Nd0.7Ba0.3Mn1−xTi<i>x</i>O3 (x=0.0,0.1,0.2,0.3)

This study synthesized polycrystalline samples of Nd[Formula: see text]Ba[Formula: see text]Mn[Formula: see text]Ti x O 3 ([Formula: see text], 0.1, 0.2, 0.3) using the solid-phase reaction method and conducted a systematic investigation of their structure, magnetic properties and magnetocaloric effect. All samples exhibit a perovskite structure with the Imma space group. As Ti doping concentration increased, the Curie temperature ([Formula: see text] gradually shifted to lower values ([Formula: see text] [Formula: see text]K, [Formula: see text] [Formula: see text]K, [Formula: see text] [Formula: see text]K, [Formula: see text] [Formula: see text]K), suggesting a weakening of the double exchange interaction between Mn[Formula: see text] and Mn[Formula: see text] ions, resulting in a decrease in the Curie temperature. Ti introduction also lowered the Curie–Weiss temperature and reduced the effective magnetic moment. Isothermal magnetization measurements revealed the coexistence of ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic phases in the doped samples. Belov–Arrott plot and n-value analysis confirmed second-order phase transitions at the Curie temperature. At the Curie temperature ([Formula: see text], the maximum magnetic entropy changes [Formula: see text] of the samples were 3.81[Formula: see text] [Formula: see text], 2.58[Formula: see text] [Formula: see text], 2.57[Formula: see text] [Formula: see text], 2.11[Formula: see text] [Formula: see text], respectively. Furthermore, the overlap between TEC and [Formula: see text] at the same magnetic field exceeded 97% for all samples, indicating excellent stability within the operating temperature range. In summary, Nd[Formula: see text]Ba[Formula: see text]Mn[Formula: see text]Ti x O 3 ([Formula: see text], 0.1, 0.2, 0.3) materials demonstrate promising applications in the field of low-temperature magnetic refrigeration.
