Research on the Experiment Teaching Model for Mechanical Engineering Undergraduates in the Context of Digital Education: A Case Study of the “Hydraulic and Pneumatic Transmission” Course
Digital transformation of experiment teaching is inevitable in the context of education digitalization. In this paper, “Hydraulic and Pneumatic Transmission” is selected as a model course to explore the digital transformation of experiment teaching for mechanical engineering undergraduates. We integrate multiple information technology-based teaching methods including virtual simulation experiments, online learning, flipped classroom, etc. at different stages of experiment teaching to form a combined digital teaching design. To address insufficiency of competency-based education in experiment teaching, a set of ability sub-indicators are proposed. A data-driven ability evaluation system is further developed by incorporating the sub-indicators with the data of the digital teaching process. Our digital experiment teaching system in “Hydraulic and Pneumatic Transmission” shall lay solid foundation for the digital transformation of experiment teaching in mechanical engineering majors.
