Research on the Application of Virtual Reality in Chinese Education and Future Development
With the rapid development of VR (Virtual Reality) technologies such as Virtual Reality, AR (Augmented Reality), and the metaverse in recent years, the application of VR technology has permeated various fields in China. Among them, the education sector, as one of the important fields of application of VR technology, has also been widely researched and applied, and has had a profound impact on the development of education in China. However, no scholars have yet summarized the publications and research situation regarding the application of VR in the Chinese education sector. Therefore, In this regard, the present study employs bibliometric research methods to conduct a statistical analysis of the current state of VR within the realm of Chinese education, utilizing data from the CNKI (China National Knowledge Infrastructure) and WOS (Web of Science). It was found that the research on VR in Chinese education started early but developed late, and involves a diverse range of academic fields. At the same time, the application scenarios in the education sector are affluent, covering various aspects such as vocational education, higher education, and special children's training. The application methods of VR technology in the Chinese education sector also show a trend of diversification, Moreover, its development is significantly influenced by policies and student feedback. With the development of technologies such as the metaverse and artificial intelligence, the application of VR technology in the Chinese education sector will continue to present a trend of hotspot research in the future.
