Application of Generative Artificial Intelligence in the BOPPPS Teaching Model
With the rapid development of GenAI technologies represented by systems like ChatGPT and DALL-E, AI applications have become increasingly popular in aspects of content generation, logical reasoning, and learning evaluation. The BOPPPS (Bridge-in, Objective, Pre-assessment, Participatory learning, Post-assessment, Summary) teaching model provides a structured format for lesson planning and instruction, with the purpose of enhancing student learning and engagement. However, there are still some challenges in the use of the BOPPPS model in practice teaching. For instance, it will take a lot time and energy for teachers to prepare personalized learning resources in different forms and of high quality, and the assessment of students' learning outcomes is difficult to be performed in real time. The following paper discusses how to apply GenAI to the six steps of the BOPPPS teaching model, and in turn, assist the teacher with each of these areas.
