Resource Planning and Works Schedule Optimization of an IT Project with Use of the General Linearization Algorithm
The article considers a modern approach to project management in conditions of complex non-linear dependencies and limited resources. One of the key tasks in the project management consists in efficient planning of resources and optimization of the works schedule, which enables cost minimization, good adherence to the project milestones and high quality of results. However, many real IT projects include complicated interdependencies and restrictions that can be described by nonlinear models with complication of their optimization process. Usage of the general linearization algorithm for nonlinear problems proposes an innovative approach to simplification and solution of complicated planning problems. Linearization allows converting nonlinear models into linear forms being more suitable for calculation, which facilitates using the methods of linear programming. This is especially important under conditions of restricted resources and rigorous time and budget limitations of an IT project. This article becomes topical due to the fact that it considers efficient methods of applying the general linearization algorithm for improving the project management.
