Modeling of the Research Corpus for the Computational Study of Ukrainian Sacred Monody

The creation and research of musical corpora represent a pertinent undertaking, given the promising research opportunities it opens up regarding Ukrainian culture, particularly drawing from sheet music manuscripts dating back to the 16th and 17th centuries. The digital compilations of such music artifacts do not enable the application of analytical or computational methods to such musical texts. Developing the corpus of such musical texts, along with suitable software, is a multi-step task. During the modeling phase, it should consider the range of computer-based musical formats and the Optical Music Recognition process peculiarities. When developed, the music corpus will be accessible for numerous corpus-driven and corpus-based research, such as music information retrieval, diachronic analysis, variability analysis, intellectual data analysis, and more.
