REINTERVENÇÃO ENDODÔNTICA E REPARO DE LESÃO PERIAPCIAL APÓS UM ANO DA CONCLUSÃO DO TRATAMENTO – RELATO DE CASO

The objective of this study was to describe a case of single-visit endodontic retreatment in a tooth with chronic apical periodontitis. A 22-year-old female patient was referred to an endodontic specialist for treatment of tooth 37. Periapical radiographic examination revealed radiopaque material similar to gutta-percha and a periapical lesion. Root canal retreatment was proposed for the patient and, after anesthesia, a coronal opening was performed. The guttapercha was removed with ProDesign Logic RT #25/08 rotary instruments. The irrigating substance used was chlorhexidine gel 2%. Repreparation was performed with Solla Purple 35.04 files in the mesiobuccal and mesiolingual canals and Solla 50.04 in the distal canal. The root canal system was obturated using the single cone technique associated with Bio-C Sealer cement. Clinical and radiographic follow-up performed one year after the completion of treatment determined the success of retreatment, since there was periapical bone radiolucent repair. It is concluded that endodontic retreatment in a single session determined the success of conservative endodontic therapy.
