Pengaruh Lamanya Paparan Asap Obat Nyamuk Bakar terhadap Perubahan Histologis Bronkus pada Tikus Putih Jantan (Rattus norvegicus) Galur Wistar

The distribution of mosquito coil products emphasizes its effectiveness in killing mosquitoes, without much information about the potential dangers of the chemical content in it. One of the active substances used in mosquito coils is Allethrin, a derivative of the Pyrethroid compound, which when burned produces smoke and can trigger damage to lung tissue, especially the bronchi. Evaluation of the effect of mosquito coil use on bronchial histopathology in samples is the aim of this study. True Experimental with a Post-Test Only Control Group Design is the method used. The study involved 24 male Wistar rats divided into four groups. Assessment of bronchial damage was carried out using the Mordue score. The results of the Kruskal-Wallis test showed a significant effect of exposure to mosquito coil smoke on changes in bronchial histopathology (p <0.001). Further Mann-Whitney tests showed significant differences between several groups (p <0.05). The duration of exposure to mosquito coil smoke was directly proportional to the level of bronchial histopathology damage, with the most severe level of damage found in the group exposed for 9 hours per day.
