Role of “Pressing Hand” in Acupuncture Treatment of Postherpetic Neuralgia
Postherpetic neuralgia is a neuropathic pain syndrome commonly observed in clinical practice, and acupuncture treatment has often been used because of its better efficacy and fewer adverse reactions. In this paper, we studied, analyzed, and summarized the important role of the pressing hand in the entire process of acupuncture treatment for postherpetic neuralgia and found it to be an important factor for improving the efficacy and safety of acupuncture. Clinicians should pay attention to the importance of the pressing hand and the synergistic cooperation between the pressing and needling hands to further optimize the clinical efficacy of acupuncture.
