Preliminary Findings Toward Inclusive AI Education: Insights from CS and Non-CS Students
This preliminary study investigates the perceptions of artificial intelligence (AI) among computer science (CS) and non-computer science (non-CS) students at a teaching-focused institution. Using an eight-question survey, it examines their attitudes toward AI's impact, benefits, drawbacks, trust in AI-utilizing companies, and comfort with AI technologies. Initial findings reveal that CS students tend to be more optimistic and confident about AI's potential, while non-CS students exhibit higher trust in AI companies but express greater apprehension. Both groups acknowledge ethical concerns and recognize AI's transformative role in daily life.
