Ecological State and Dynamics of Waters of the East Kamchatka Current Area and Other Locations of the Far Eastern Seas on Cruise 68 of R/V Akademik Oparin

During cruise 68 of the R/V Akademik Oparin, carried out from August 8 to September 18, 2023, research was continued in the area east of the Kamchatka Peninsula to study the possible factors that caused the mass mortality of marine organisms in fall 2020; study the structure of the East Kamchatka Current, specific features of mesoscale eddies that form here, and hydrochemical features of the Kamchatskiy Bay; research the gas-geochemical processes; assess the environmental conditions in the area of oil and gas exploration on Sakhalin Island shelf; estimate the radionuclide content in the area of the cruise; and carry out marine optics research and hydroacoustic experiments.
