INTRODUCTION OF EVAPOTRANSPIRATIVE MAPPING SYSTEM AND ORGANIC FARMING IN HORTICULTURE CULTIVATION APPLICATION TO SUPPORT AGRO-INDUSTRY IN GEM NEW VILLAGE, NORTH INDRALAYA SUB-DISTRICT, OGAN ILIR DISTRICT, SOUTH SUMATRA
The community of Permata Baru Village, North Indralaya Subdistrict, Ogan Ilir Regency (one of the villages assisted by Sriwijaya University) is the main target of the socialization activities in 2024 together with the community service team. Permata Baru Village has other potential besides agriculture, namely farming. Most farmers in Permata Baru Village are able to produce lemons, vegetables, horticulture and oil palm nurseries. Agricultural production such as vegetables, horticultural products and secondary crops in Permata Baru Village is highly dependent on inorganic fertilizers and climatic conditions. It is these aspects that limit the yields and income of the farmers. PKK “Beguyur” is one of the UPPKs that was reactivated in 2018 with a savings and loan system and is used by its members, especially those with independent production potential. Through the socialization of evapotranspirative systems and organic farming, farmers and members of PKK “Beguyur” can develop and increase agricultural production and income of farmers and residents in Permata Baru Village.
