BackgroundThe American English Phrase Sample is an alternative repetition stimulus that can be used as a part of the Cleft Audit Protocol for Speech-Augmented-Americleft Modification.ProblemReliability for rating hypernasality is unknown when the phrase sample is used.SolutionAssessed intra- and interrater reliability for rating hypernasality. What we didIntrarater reliability was k = 0.76-0.91 and interrater reliability was k = 0.63-0.77. The phrase sample had the same reliability for rating hypernasality as the sentence sample.
