INTERNATIONAL TREATIES OF THE REPUBLIC OF BELARUS ON LEGAL ASSISTANCE IN CRIMINAL CASES

The article is devoted to the issue of legal assistance in criminal cases. A number of international treaties concluded by the Republic of Belarus with other states in this field are analyzed. Attention is drawn to the positive role of these treaties ensuring inevitability and fairness of punishment of guilty persons. The inconsistency in the use of different concepts, terms, grounds for refusal, etc. in the treaties is noted. It was proposed to develop at the level of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs a model agreement on legal assistance in civil, family, labor and criminal cases. Other proposals were made to improve Belarusian legislation, Rnternational legal and other practice of the Republic of Belarus.
