ONTOLOGICAL ANALYSIS OF THE CATEGORY ‘SOCIO-ECONOMIC SYSTEM’

The article presents the author's study of the category ‘socio-economic system’ based on the analysis of the composition, content, functions of each of its subsystems: social and economic. A comparison of the social and economic systems is carried out based on their ontological characteristics, such as a single element (unit of the system), the content of processes, regulatory mechanisms, and the necessary conditions for existence. The place of each subsystem (social, economic) within the framework of the integral system is studied: issues of the priority of the economic system over the social system are considered; and vice versa, the independence of the social and economic subsystems. Based on a critical analysis of these research positions, the essential qualities of the socio-economic system are derived, predetermining its dual nature, which subsequently serves as the basis for the development of a methodological apparatus for its study.
