Digital tools and the learning of mathematics in basic education

In this work, the impact of digital tools on the learning of mathematics in basic education students was evaluated. The methodology combined qualitative and quantitative approaches, using surveys to collect data on the accessibility, usability, effectiveness, and security of digital tools, as well as on math performance. The results indicated that, although students have access to and frequently use digital tools, the perceived effectiveness is moderate due to the lack of teacher training. The perception of security and confidence in these tools varies, and the attitude towards learning mathematics shows an intermediate interest. The conclusions suggest the need to improve teacher training and optimize teaching and assessment strategies in mathematics.
