Reflection of Photothermal Waves in a Rotating Temperature‐Dependent Semiconducting Medium With Voids

ABSTRACT The present article studies the reflection phenomenon of photothermal waves in a rotating temperature‐dependent semiconducting porous medium. The study is conducted using the dual‐phase lag theory of thermoelasticity. The amplitude and energy ratios of photothermal waves are determined analytically using suitable boundary conditions. Further, numerical computations are done for amplitude ratios, and their graphs are plotted using MATLAB software to analyze the effects of various parameters. In the medium under consideration, five sets of coupled waves are found to vibrate at different speeds. The effect of different theories of thermoelasticity on reflection coefficients is also presented. The rotation and void parameters show a considerable effect on amplitude ratios. The maximum amount of incident energy is transferred to a single reflected wave. Energy ratios have been plotted against angle of incidence to demonstrate that there is zero energy dissipation during the reflection of the considered waves.
