Extremism in Russia: Ideological Factors and Aspects of Interaction

The study of facts, events, trends of destructive activities in the twenty-first century indicates that extremist activi-ty is largely stimulated by unfriendly states and non-state entities. Using financial instruments and ideological sources, these actors contribute to the emergence of new complexes of interethnic contradictions, religious differences, social deformations, and political conflicts. Their ultimate goal is to violate the unity and territorial integrity of Russia. The aim of the publication is to systematize and analyze ideological sources in extremism as one of the most complex destructive phenomena in the structure of ensuring national security and preserva-tion of modern Russian society. Among the tasks identified are: the role and place of the ideological factor in the system of extremist and anti-extremist activities from the perspective of religion, migration, morality, educa-tion, upbringing, as well as actualizing history as a subject and stimulating activities to preserve the historical past. The results of the study of this issue indicate the need and obligation to apply reasoned, flexible, opera-tionally feasible preventive activities, guided by the provision that preventive action is a continuous process.
