Soberania, economia e sociedade

The crisis of neoliberalism and the awakening of the Productive Restructuring of Advanced Manufacturing (RPMA, acronym in Portuguese) underpin the current phenomenon of neo-statism and point to a situation in which strategic policies focused on sovereignty are on the rise. In this context, we see a revaluation of the role of the nation-state in conducting political and economic development strategies and in redefining the forms of integration in globalisation. Faced with this macro-political, economic and social context and the challenges it presents to Brazil, this article proposes three theoretical movements: (1) a historical reflection on national sovereignty based on the link between economy and society, (2) an analysis of the global-local context of sovereignty and Brazil's economic and industrialising policies today and, finally, (3) considerations on labour and digital sovereignty as structuring elements for the construction of an effective, democratic and socially inclusive national sovereignty.
