Role of Social - Cultural Practices in Enhancing the Sustainability of Public Borehole Water Project in Kenya
The primary aim of this study was to explore the connections between socio-cultural practices, and the sustainability of public borehole water projects in Kitui County-Kenya. The study was grounded in a pragmatic research paradigm from a philosophical standpoint. A mixed-method research design was employed, focusing on a sample of 199 public borehole water projects, with a target of 605 respondents. Both qualitative and quantitative methods were used simultaneously to collect and analyze the data. The collected data was examined using both descriptive and inferential statistical techniques. Descriptive statistics involved calculating the mean, standard deviation, and minimum and maximum values, while inferential statistics primarily utilized ordinary least squares for estimation. The findings revealed a significant and positive relationship between socio-cultural practices, and the sustainability of public borehole water projects in Kitui County-Kenya.
