The Future ‒ the Human Dimension and a Positive Rethinking of the Transhumanist Project
The article provides a sociological analysis of foreign and domestic scientific points of view on the ideas of transhumanism. The relevance of the research is related to the increasing frequency of scientific polemics from different and contradictory positions regarding transhumanism. Particular attention is paid to the criticism of some interpretations of transhumanism. The impact of technological progress on people and their future employment is analyzed. The incompleteness, prematurity and utopianism of a number of modern ideas of transhumanism are noted. It is concluded that biotechnological and technic approaches, devoid of humanity, impoverish and deform the human future. The scientific novelty of the analysis consists in offering an alterna-tive approach to the development of ideas of a new transhumanism and its transformation into a humanistic anthropocentric process through the improvement of the totality of human qualities.
