STUDY ON THE INFLUENCE OF ADHESIVE ON THE ANTI-PENETRATION PERFORMANCE OF CERAMIC-METAL LAMINATED PROTECTION

The application of ceramic and multi-layer composite structures of other materials in individual soldier protective equipment has improved the survivability of soldiers on the battlefield. The requirements of the new generation of individual soldier protective equipment are to ensure protection and light weight simultaneously. In this study, Ls- Dyna simulation software was used, and the FEM-SPH coupling algorithm was adopted. A numerical model of 7.62 mm armor piercing projectile penetrating ceramic laminated protection was established. The accuracy of the ceramic material parameters was verified by the residual penetration and penetration tests of Si3N4 ceramics, and the simulation results of the projectile penetrating the laminated structure were compared with the test results. It was found that the numerical simulation results were close to the ballistic test data; the maximum error of the data was less than 8%, and the effectiveness of the model was verified. The ceramic lamination protection of projectile penetration with different binders and the ceramic structure of projectile penetration with two types of binders were studied. The influence of the binder material on the protection performance was studied. The protection performance of the epoxy resin-bonded laminated protective structure was superior to that of the metal silicone-bonded laminated protective structure.
