Modeling and cost analysis of electric hydrogen fusion scenarios
With the construction of new power systems and new energy systems, there is an urgent need to carry out low-carbon energy transformation. Hydrogen energy, as a link and energy storage medium connecting renewable energy such as wind power, solar power, and hydropower, can play an important role in various aspects of the new power system, such as power generation, transmission, and consumption. Electricity and hydrogen energy are gradually showing a trend of coupled development. It transforms excess renewable electricity into hydrogen for prolonged energy storage, thereby significantly boosting the utilization of renewable energy. It also offers adaptable regulation techniques, advancing energy transformation and facilitating carbon neutrality. This article conducts a comprehensive examination of six representative hydrogen energy application scenarios on the "power source, grid, and load" aspects of a modern power system. It outlines the fundamental building blocks and typical operational features of these scenarios, while precisely determining the key capacity allocation and parameter optimization strategies for each. A multidimensional cost analysis model has been constructed, and a standardized unit cost calculation method for the entire lifecycle of hydrogen production has been proposed. An in-depth economic analysis was conducted on hydrogen production technology in typical scenarios, and the development prospects and potential of hydrogen production technology in various application scenarios were prospectively predicted, providing an economic theoretical basis for the widespread application of electric hydrogen coupling technology in new power systems.
