Analysis of power frequency current characteristics of single-phase reclosing in distribution network

At present, researchers are investigating phase-selective adaptive reclosing in distribution networks. The power frequency current characteristics of single-phase reclosing represent a critical factor influencing the implementation of phase selective adaptive reclosing within these networks. In this study, we derive the current expression for single-phase reclosing in distribution networks under various fault conditions. Additionally, we analyze the effects of load size and transition resistance on the reclosing phase current. Our findings indicate that the reclosed phase current in both neutral non-grounded systems and arc suppression coil grounded systems is significantly less than 600 A. Moreover, in low resistance grounded systems, the reclosed phase current in the 10 kV distribution network also remains below 600 A. This research offers a theoretical foundation for assessing the feasibility of phase-selective reclosing.
