Electromechanical transient model and power emergency control of GFM-BESS
The energy storage equipment with grid-forming control technology will be widely used in new-type power system. In this paper, firstly, the electromechanical transient simulation model of grid forming battery energy storage system (GFM-BESS) based on virtual synchronous control strategy is established, and it has excitation regulation link and virtual impedance current limiting link. Secondly, based on the large disturbance excitation method, the characteristics of the disturbed current and power, and the effects of current limiting, commutation reactance, virtual inertia and damping on the characteristics of GFM-BESS are studied. Thirdly, based on the simplified branch transient transfer capability <i>I</i>sBTTC index, which can be used to quantitatively characterize the system stability, a GFM-BESS point selection method is proposed to improve the rotor angle stability. Finally, aiming to the ac-dc hybrid system with the risk of voltage instability and the CEPRI-RAS system with the risk of rotor angle instability, the effectiveness of GFM-BESS in improving system stability are verified.
