Air-to-air UAV channel modelling for new energy grid-connected scenarios
In the scenario of new energy grid connection, the wide layout of distributed power sources brings significant signal attenuation, scattering, and multipath effects, increasing the complexity of communication channels for drones in power line inspection. To accurately describe the channel characteristics of drone communication in this scenario, this paper proposes a three-dimensional non-stationary air-to-air channel model based on geometric stochastic modeling. The model considers the influence of scattering environment and transmission towers on signal transmission, using cylinders and elliptical cylinders to describe the distribution of scatterers. Meanwhile, a Gaussian Markov mobility model is introduced to simulate the drone's motion trajectory to be compatible with real communication scenarios. Based on the dynamic motion of drones, time-varying expressions of multipath component parameters are derived. The influence of drone motion and environmental parameters on channel characteristics and non-stationarity is studied, providing reference for the design of air-to-air communication systems in drone inspection scenarios around towers. Through comparative analysis of theoretical and simulation models, the usability of the model is validated.
