Research on collaborative control method of virtual synchronous compensator based on supercapacitor energy storage
In order to solve the voltage stability problems caused by the lack of voltage sources and insufficient inertia and damping in the "dual high" system, researchers have proposed solutions to increase energy storage on the DC side of wind farms or introduce virtual synchronous compensators on the AC side, starting from the control and energy storage technology of grid inverters. Although adding energy storage on the DC side requires a large-scale renovation of existing hardware and has high economic costs and implementation difficulties, introducing a virtual synchronous compensator on the AC side can quickly compensate for reactive power in the form of a voltage source, thereby improving voltage stability and achieving grid building functions. However, the independent control strategy of wind farms and AC side virtual synchronous compensators has not fundamentally solved the voltage source characteristic problem of new energy stations. Therefore, this article proposes a virtual synchronous compensator collaborative control scheme based on supercapacitor energy storage, and verifies its effectiveness through simulation experiments. The results show that the collaborative control of wind farms and the output of virtual synchronous compensators can ensure the safe operation of equipment, enable the entire new energy plant to exhibit voltage source characteristics, and provide necessary damping support for the new energy plant.
