Distributed control of current unbalance compensation using PV
As a converter widely existing in distribution network, the remaining capacity of three-phase photovoltaic (PV) can be used to solve the power quality problem. In this research, a distributed control is designed to compensating unbalanced current for transformer using three-phase PVs. The control is implemented according to measurement at the transformer node, after real-time calculation, power instructions are broadcast to the converters that undertake compensating by low-bandwidth one-way communication. And the converters generate compensating current according to the received instructions. The effectiveness is validated by hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) tests. The results show that the proposed control can effectively reduce the unbalanced current for transformer and being reliable to communication failures.
