Research on the electric power market space and the characteristics of external electricity acceptance demand in the east China power grid
The rapid growth of electricity demand in East China contrasts sharply with its limited natural energy resources. Effectively utilizing new energy from the Northwest is crucial for addressing this supply-demand imbalance. This paper studies the electric power market and external electricity acceptance demand in the East China Power Grid. It begins by analyzing the energy profile of the region, discussing the current status and future planning of its power system. The study evaluates the power grid's current state and expansion plans, quantifying the electric power market space through power balance analysis, which reveals potential future shortages. Finally, it examines how to meet electricity demands by optimizing resource allocation. By 2035, the East China Power Grid is projected to have significant market capacities with Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, and Fujian provinces having market spaces of 7,937MW, 19,753MW, 71,826MW, 63,659MW, and 16,252MW, respectively. Optimizing resource allocation and enhancing grid capacity can increase the absorption of new energy, reduce operational costs, and support the region's green energy transformation.
