An aggregation method for offshore wind power systems considering a wide frequency range
Offshore wind power is becoming a significant part of the global transition to clean energy. As transmission distances increase, flexible DC transmission systems are being adopted for their efficiency in integrating deep-sea wind power. However, these systems introduce stability challenges, particularly in the mid- to high-frequency range. This paper presents a numerical impedance-based aggregation method to simplify the modeling of offshore wind farms in flexible DC transmission systems. By calculating impedance as a frequency-dependent complex value, the method preserves key characteristics across a broad frequency range while reducing model complexity. A feeder aggregation approach is introduced to optimize impedance matching, ensuring dynamic accuracy. Simulation results confirm that the proposed method effectively aggregates impedance, maintains accuracy, and proves useful in stability analysis for mid- to high-frequency ranges.
