Simulation study of power frequency overvoltage and its suppression in power system
Power frequency overvoltage of power system is one of the important problems faced in the operation of power grid, and its generation is closely related to the structure, operation status and fault type of power system. In this paper, the generation mechanism, characteristics and suppression measures of power frequency overvoltage in power system are analyzed through simulation research. Firstly, three main mechanisms of power frequency overvoltage are described: the capacity rise effect of no-load long lines, load dumping during normal operation, and voltage increase caused by asymmetric faults. On this basis, MATLAB/Simulink was used to build two power system models, no-load long transmission line and line load shedding, and the shunt reactor was used to suppress the power frequency overvoltage. The simulation results show that the use of shunt reactors for no-load long transmission lines and load shedding can effectively reduce the power frequency overvoltage and improve the stability of the power system.
