Research scheme on protection of single-core phase-shifting transformer
Phase shift transformer (PST) access line can effectively control the power flow without changing the structure of the grid. It is of great significance to study the bulk protection scheme of PST for the safe and stable operation of power system. Based on Kirchhoff's current law and electromagnetic induction law, the operational characteristics of a 35 kV single-core symmetrical phase-shifting transformer used are analyzed. An electrical balance differential protection scheme is developed. This scheme is capable of covering phase to phase faults across all windings and winding leads in the single-core phase-shifting transformer (SCPST). Lastly, a SCPST model is created using the Matlab/Simulink platform, and the effectiveness of the differential protection scheme is verified by setting the typical faults in body.
