The Model Design and Performance Analysis of the Multi-Gasbag-Propelled Dispersal System

Abstract The large-scale deployment of overload-sensitive release units, such as drone swarms, presents a significant challenge to dispersal systems that require both low overload and high thrust. In this paper, we propose a multi-gasbag-propelled dispersal system and establish a mathematical model to describe its operation. Then, a double-gasbag-propelled dispersal system as the research object is designed, and the experimental platform is built. Experimental and simulation results show that the maximum thrust and separation velocity of the double-gasbag system are increased by 9.2% and 14.6% compared to the traditional single-gasbag system at the same propellant mass, while maintaining the overload within an acceptable range. Moreover, based on orthogonal test analysis, the important order of key parameters for the motion characteristics of the release unit has been determined. The gasbag nozzle diameter is found to have the most significant effect, while small adjustment in propellant mass levels exerts a more pronounced influence on the results.
