Uncoupled 19-Core Multicore Fiber With Highest Core Density by Homogenous Cores

Standard coating diameter uncoupled 19-core multicore fiber with highest core density was achieved. By optimizing refractive index profile and core diameter, the core density was maximized, and coating diameter was suppressed up to 250 mm. Furthermore, this 19-core multicore fiber has the low bending loss and mechanical reliability required for high density optical wiring applications.

Abstract

Standard coating diameter uncoupled 19-core multicore fiber with highest core density was achieved. By optimizing refractive index profile and core diameter, the core density was maximized, and coating diameter was suppressed up to 250 mm. Furthermore, this 19-core multicore fiber has the low bending loss and mechanical reliability required for high density optical wiring applications.
