AN EXAMINATION OF THE FACTORS SHAPING COMMUNITY ADAPTATION TO A NEW NORM OF LIFE
The year 2022 is regarded as a transition year for Malaysia, marking the shift from the Covid-19 pandemic to an endemic phase. This transition has not only impacted individuals but has also tested the resilience of family and community institutions. This study aims to identify the factors influencing communities in adapting to the changes towards a new normal through factor analysis. The findings of the study reveal that there are eight key factors that influence the community: family relationships, economic relationships, health relationships, safety relationships, community relationships, spiritual relationships, environmental relationships, and communication technology relationships. All these factors indicate that the new normal brings unique challenges to the community. Therefore, emphasizing all these factors is crucial in formulating an integrated strategy to empower the community in adapting to the new normal.
