THE EFFECTIVENESS OF HIGH-INTENSITY INTERVAL TRAINING CARDIORESPIRATORY FITNESS AND BODY COMPOSITION FOR FEMALE TRAINEES AGED 20-25 YEARS

Physical fitness and health are an important aspect in confronting the nature of the prevailing lifestyles in our societies.Adopting an active lifestyle is one of the effective solutions to reduce the aggravation of life problems and confront the risks of contracting chronic diseases, most notably heart and respiratory diseases, in addition to meeting the needs of trainees with regard to their body composition.High-intensity interval training (HIIT) is an effective training method in many areas, including the health aspect. This is due to the nature of the training loads it contains, from short periods of intense exercise followed by periods of rest or low-intensity activity, which leads to physiological responses that enhance the efficiency of the cardiorespiratory system and the body's use of oxygen. The research aimed to prepare a training curriculum using the HIIT method that suits the capabilities of the research sample. And to identify the effect of HIIT on cardiorespiratory fitness and body composition of the research sample. The research sample included (18) female trainees aged 20-25 years, divided into two groups: the control group (8) trainees and the experimental group (10) trainees. The research was conducted from 1-2-2024 to 26-4-2024 in Baghdad. The experimental method was adopted by designing the two groups (control and experimental). The training curriculum was applied using the HIIT method for 12 weeks. The researcher concluded: The effectiveness of the training program in developing cardiorespiratory fitness and improving body composition.
