THE SCENOGRAPHY OF RUIN IN THE NOVEL "LADIES OF SATURN"
The novel expanded its horizons and imposed its imperialism on other expressive genres, especially the theater, which dominated its techniques and tools to enrich its world and enhance its constant ambition to dramatize events and scenes to achieve convincing realism.Hence our choice of the concept of (scenography), which refers to the depiction of the scene and the formation of its presentation space in the theater, by combining the elements of decoration, sound, lighting, and others; to read the novel (The Ladies of Saturn) and analyze the specificity of forming the scenes of its events and presenting them scenographically .The novel is characterized by the dominance of the theme of desolation, which manifested itself in various forms, occupying the structure of the novel, starting from the beginning of its chapters, passing through all the details of the space with its times, places, and characters, and moving on to highlighting the historical extension of this desolation, its root and permanence. This is what prompted us to choose the socio-textual approach in analyzing the novel, due to its flexibility in containing textual narrative theories, blending them with content, and assimilating history. The author began the chapters of her novel with a scenographic representation of the bloody scenes of (ruin) in its psychological, physical, spatial, and other manifestations, and the characters collaborated through direct narration and notebooks in presenting it.The streamof-consciousness technique intensified the presentation of the characters' psychological content, and (memory) was presented in a visual way, so that the textual discourse manifested itself in the form of vivid images and visual scenes, displacing images of life and happy memories, to be replaced by scenes of ruin and death. The space of the novel was formed and built on the ruins, and the features of the place and its decorations were drawn to achieve the illusion of reference, by depicting it scenographically and identifying it by name.In this space, the scenes of the characters' psychological devastation are juxtaposed with the scenes of the cities' devastation, so that the devastation of the cities expresses the character's psyche, so that they are objectively equivalent and parallel in the magnitude of the devastation. Therefore,
