WEAK USE OF EDUCATIONAL TOOLS DURING CLASSROOM LESSONS

This study aimed to reveal the reality of science teachers' use of educational tools during the implementation of general science lessons in the upper elementary grades at a government school in the Directorate of Education in Salfit Governorate. The study included two science teachers at this school. To conduct this study, the researchers followed action research steps, where they conducted interviews with the science teachers, the school principal, and some students. They also attended several face-to-face classroom lessons taught by the science teachers and reviewed the official records in the school (such as the daily lesson preparation book, semester plans, activity log, and educational tools log). After analyzing the interviews, collecting observations from classroom lessons, and reviewing the official records, the researchers concluded that the use of educational tools during the implementation of lessons is limited, not exceeding 30% at best of the educational tools that could be used. Therefore, it is below the required level to achieve educational goals.Educational tools mostly consist of the blackboard, textbooks, and some cardboard posters in most lessons. The use of technological educational tools, diversity in the tools used, and the use of devices and models is limited and does not achieve the intended purpose of educational tools. The teachers indicated that the reason for this weakness is due to the lack of consistency in the educational process in schools in Salfit Governorate, the heavy workload of teachers (number of lessons and various committees), the insufficient availability of ready educational tools at the school due to the difficult economic situation, and the inability of the teachers to effectively produce educational tools, among other reasons and challenges that will be detailed in the full text of the study. The researchers recommended a series of actions to address this problem, including: increasing communication with the local community to provide necessary support to the school, supplying the school with some devices, equipment, and educational tools from the Directorate of Education in the governorate, improving the internet speed in the school,
